England Number 1 Without a doubt

Could last nights 4-0 win over Bulgaria be a new beginning for England? I hope so, things did look promising for the young lions, my idea has always been go for youth. Joe Hart was fantastic, you could see he was enjoying every second. Adam Johnson was superb as was Walcott, Gerrard, Milner and dare I say it….oh sod it I will. It looks like England may at last have a very formidable partnership in Rooney and Dafoe. I bet Switzerland ain’t too happy.

I couldn’t give a damn if Rooney never scores again for England as long as he continues to play that well and assists everybody else in scoring.

We shall see…. I hope he continues to give youth a chance. Is Leighton Baines eligible for England?

Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet a 5 star read

I have just finished Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet. It was a fantastic read which kept me riveted thoughout its 1200 odd pages. A mamouth tale of good versus evil set in the middle ages around the building of a new cathedral in the fictional town of Kingsbridge.

It  has been recently made in to a TV series according to IMdb.

On June 10th Channel 4 announced  it has acquired the UK premiere broadcast rights to the ground-breaking eight-hour TV adaptation. It is due to make its UK debut in 2010 on Channel 4 after it airs in the US on Starz.

My next book is The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo….

It will ruin the sport completely. What makes football so brilliant is the post match talk. Having electronic refs will make football clinical, there will be no doubt in offsides, penalties, ball crossing the line disputes etc…It would be so damn boring….

England must have an English manager

After the recent dismall performance in Africa. Fabio Capello must go. He and only he is to blame. I mean what (I am trying hard not to swear) fool would bring on Heskey when we wer 4-1 down to Germany!  Can someone tell me what he was thinking? 

England must have an English manager ideally Harry Redknap, look what he’s done for Totenham. Spurs play exciting football and have a high ratio of English players.

The English camp was clearly not a happy place. The language barrier I believe must have played a part. Fabio is not fluent by any means, English is a tough language to master. I am sure when giving motivational talks some of the subtleties he wishes to convey simply don’t translate. We must have an English manager

I am writing to complain about a very unsatisfactory, unpleasant and unnecessary experience I recently endured with your company ebuyer and the courier service UPS.

We purchased a TV DVD combo from you order No. 14475091. UPS attempted to deliver a couple of days after we received email confirmation of dispatch. We were at work so only received a delivery attempt notification ticket. We then contacted UPS to arrange another delivery. We were told by UPS we had to contact ebuyer to arrange delivery. We contacted ebuyer on Monday 10^th May (UPS attempted delivery a couple of more times prior to this) I spoke to a customer services agent to explain the situation. I was put on hold while she spoke with UPS. It was agreed they would attempt delivery again the next day on Tuesday 11^th May after 2pm. I made it clear nobody will be home before. I took an afternoon of work so I would be home when the package arrives. I arrived home at 13.50pm to discover another attempted delivery slip, timed at 10am. I could not believe this level of incompetence.

I telephoned customer services again and this time requested to speak to a more senior member of the call centre. I explained my frustration and was told there is a facility at the checkout to “timeframe” a delivery, but this incurred an extra charge. I was furious at this. This should be a regular service for EVERY delivery. This I consider outrageously poor customer service. In the current economical climate, where services are just as important as the goods they sell.

When the package was finally delivered at alternative address (because they couldn’t/wouldn’t deliver pm in Folkestone) The seal of the package had been compromised, when questioned about this the delivery man was rude and unhelpful.

Ebuyer service is a dreadful example and a poor advert for ecommerce. I will not be using them again.

In this day and age of technology it is unfathomable why there isn’t better liaison between supplier and delivery.

How much money does UPS lose with this repeated delivery attempts method? The first failed delivery you would think “oh they’re probably at work” the second you would think “yes they’re at work”. To continue to attempt delivery at the same time every day can only be described as stupid! Not to mention costly for UPS especially if you multiply this by deliveries worldwide, the loss in fuel and man hours probably equates to tens of thousands of £’s

To conclude,  I will not be buying from Ebuyer again.

Sexy voiced psycho Alice played by Ruth Wilson

BBC have done it again. The best cop show EVER! John Luther played by Idris Elba is not just your run of the mill same old same old maverick cop. Luther is the real deal possibly a little deranged equaled only by Alice Morgan played by the beautiful Ruth Wilson. Now she is either an extremely talented actress or she is actually seriously unhinged.

Thank you BBC for providing 6 solid hours of gripping drama. Will there be another series? I hope so, but it will have to be good.

Well that’s it see what you think! They’re are a few players that narrowly missed. Ashley Young not had the best season and final delivery not world class. Phil Jagielka is back from injury so he could also be on the plane. We shall see who Fabio picks. I hope he doesn’t pick Heskey. I’m a Villa fan and I don’t rate him.
